PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE

peforming-arts-centre-02Yarra Valley Grammar’s Performing Arts curriculum provides students with extensive opportunities to develop confidence, achieve personal goals, develop individual talents and work together as a team.

This curriculum is supported by The George Wood Performing Arts Centre, a unique on-site facility that also allows the entire School community – from Junior School through to Year 12 – to meet together to celebrate and acknowledge achievement as well as significant performances and events.

The Performing Arts Centre boasts a seating capacity of 895 with modern sound and lighting systems. A flexible space called The Gallery complements the main Auditorium and is regularly used for lectures, presentations and catered functions.

The Centre regularly plays host to performances by children's favourites – Hi-5, The Hooley Dooleys and ABC for Kids as well as concert performances by some of Australia 's best-known artists. In addition, the venue is used extensively for school concerts and presentations, dance performances and various charity and community events.

The Centre is available for private hire and is widely enjoyed by the greater community. Limited parking is available and disabled clients are catered for with wheelchair access from the street to any location in the stalls.
