PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME
From Early Learning to Year 12, we provide a continuous and balanced education for our students. Our programs provide for the intellectual, emotional, spiritual, physical and social needs of each individual. Constant monitoring and reviewing of the learning program ensures that we are providing a comprehensive and stimulating curriculum, relevant to the needs of young people in a modern society.
We value the concept of the ‘team’. We believe that boys and girls benefit enormously from working together. We emphasise commitment and, while we set up our students for success, we understand that often, young people will learn as much from their failure to achieve their goal the first time, as they will from the triumphs along the way. Students from a range of backgrounds create a culture of diversity at Yarra Valley Grammar. The School welcomes international students and has a Hearing Unit for around 35 hearing impaired students from Early Learning to Year 12. In 2003, the School’s Hearing Unit was recognised in The Australian newspaper’s Best Schools competition as an example of a striking innovation that is “widely considered to be one of the best initiatives of its kind in the country”. Our staff are committed to providing students with contemporary experiences and encourage them to pursue excellence in the academic, cultural and sporting fields. I look forward to welcoming you into the Yarra Valley Grammar family. Dr. Mark A. Merry Principal |
