ABSENCE AND LATENESS

Absence
  • If a student is to be absent from school, a parent or guardian should contact the School Receptionist or the Middle School/Senior College Office before 9.30am, to inform the School of the absence. If this is not possible students must hand an explanatory note to their Year Level Co-ordinator on the day of their return.
  • Any request for an extended period of absence should be directed in writing to the Head of School as far as possible in advance of the relevant dates.
  • Any request to be absent from sport practice held after School should be directed to the teacher in charge of the team by end of recess on the relevant day.
  • Any request to be absent from Saturday sport should be directed to the relevant Head of School (Mr A E Hocking for Senior College students or Mrs J G Farmilo for Middle School students). This is to be done no later than lunchtime on the Monday prior to the relevant Saturday.
  • Any request by a student to be absent from a class should be directed to the Year Level Co-ordinator, as far as possible in advance of the class.
Lateness
  • If a student is late to School but arrives by 8.45am, he/she should present a note to explain his/her lateness to the Period 1 teacher – the student will be recorded as being late.
  • If a student is late to School and arrives after 8.45am, then the student must report to the Middle School/Senior College Office to record her/his lateness. A note should be provided and a late pass will be issued.
  • Leaving School Early
  • If a student is to leave School before 3.35 p.m. for a medical appointment (or equivalent), the student must present a letter from his/her parent requesting to leave early and outline the reason why to the Year Level Co-ordinator. The Year Level Co-ordinator will issue the student with an Exit pass. The student must sign out from the Middle School/Senior College office prior to leaving. The Exit pass is to be kept by the student.
