The Scholarship Testing Process
All students applying for an Academic, Excellence or Music Scholarship at Yarra Valley Grammar must sit the Scholarship Test. Students applying for a Music Scholarship must also sit an audition.
Date of Scholarship Testing – Saturday, 27 February 2010, from 8:30am.
Date of Music Audition – Saturday, 13 March 2010. Applicants will be notified of their audition time.
Venue – George Wood Performing Arts Centre at Yarra Valley Grammar. Parking is available within the school grounds. Enter via Gate A on Kalinda Road.
Closing date for Scholarship Test Registrations – 5pm, Friday, 19 February 2010. Registrations after this date may be accepted but will incur a late fee. Please contact the School if you wish to apply after the closing date.
Applications are only accepted online. Please refer to the Candidates Information Bulletin before registering online. Once the registration period has closed, further information about the testing day will be posted to all candidates.
Scholarship offers and results
The Principal will decide on all candidates to be short listed for interview. All scholarship offers are made at the discretion of the Principal.
Registration Fees and Conditions –
- A registration fee of $99.00 (including GST) covers Scholarship Testing for students applying for an Academic, General Excellence or Music Scholarship.
- An additional fee of $22.00 (including GST) is required for those candidates applying for a Music Scholarship.
- Acceptance of a scholarship at another AHISA independent school, prior to interview at Yarra Valley Grammar, disqualifies a candidate from eligibility for any scholarship.
On the Scholarship Testing Day
Candidates should register at the Performing Arts Centre between 8.00am and 8.30am. Students should bring with them a two HB pencils, pencil sharpener, pencil eraser and two blue or black pens. Rulers, mathematical instruments (including calculators, calculator watches), watches that beep, mobile phones, books or papers of any kind and ‘white out' are not allowed. On the day the Principal will address candidates and their parents. Following this, the candidates are taken to the testing rooms. Morning tea will be provided. The test will finish at approximately 12 noon.
A tour of Yarra Valley Grammar will be offered to parents of students sitting the Scholarship Test. The tour commences at 9.00am from the Performing Arts Centre.
