IT FEELS GOOD TO HELPMY SCHOOL
Shenae Kerr (Year 7) Students from my school, Yarra Valley Grammar, have recently been putting in our bit for Marysville. The Community Links team have been collecting new books from students and staff. The books were brought to the school chapel and then were packaged ready for delivery. Most of the Community Links team went t o Marysville to personally deliver the books. It was an hour drive full of singing and laughs until we hit the parts that had been burnt. There was a moment of silence as we all took it in; it was a truly emotional sight but a wonderful experience. As we arrived at the community hub, we were shown the area where they had meetings and fundraisers. There was a lounge with a book shelf and a local library was donating more shelves. We donated more than 620 books ranging from chapter books, kids’ books to cooking books. It felt good to do our bit.Maroondah Leader - Tuesday 6 October, 2009 Click to view more news articles |
