OUTDOOR EDUCATION
Yarra Valley Grammar’s commitment to Outdoor Education began when the School was founded, and has grown and strengthened since that time. Our Outdoor Education program begins with School camps (which start in Year 2 and go through to Year 12) and extends to Senior College, where students may elect to study VCE Outdoor Education. Via our Outdoor Education program, our students develop resilience, self-reliance, improved teamwork skills and a spirit of adventure. Our program also equips them with a love of the natural environment, and a heightened awareness of its importance and value. Sustainability education is an important element of every Outdoor Education activity we offer. A key feature of our Outdoor Education program is Wootton Lodge, the School’s 10-hectare Outdoor Education facility located in Central Gippsland. Here, students participate in a wide range of activities including bush walking, rafting, canoeing, skiing, horse riding, mountain bike riding, rock climbing, surfing and scuba diving. |
