Yarra's Living History - The Visionary
We continue to work with the Yarra Foundation to support each other’s goals. One such initiative is Yarra’s Living History that is designed to bring the School Archives alive and make them more accessible to everyone. We have QR codes, that we are all so familiar with these days, at a few significant landmarks around the School linking back to the School website with more information about the landmark, its history and its story.
One landmark featured in Yarra’s Living History is The Visionary sculpture that was created by YOG Sculptor, Damian Vick (YOG 1998) and was unveiled at our 50th Anniversary Community Festival in 2016. It was created to encapsulate the nature of Yarra, its people, its philosophy, its spirit and its direction. A figure, a dreamer, a visionary looking skyward, pondering and projecting its future that fits beautifully with the School Motto, Levavi Oculos – I lift up my eyes.
