Career Bytes – revised!

We have revised the way we capture our Career Byte information and so it’s now EVEN EASIER for you to contribute to Yarra’s current students in our main strategy pillar of ‘Careers’.

Career Bytes were originally 1-2 minute videos of YOGs talking about their career journey, but we found that a lot of you were shy(!) and would prefer to fill out a form instead of record a video – so the format has changed!

We are wanting to collect a reference library of HUNDREDS of Career Bytes so that our students (and younger YOGs) can search on various parameters including industry, occupation, tertiary institution, tertiary course or Y12 subject studied. This will help them with subject selection and the navigation of their own career journey – it will show them what’s possible! They will be able to see where different subjects studied at school have led YOGs to, and how varied career paths can be. This will be a resource specifically utilised by our Year 9 students after they receive their My Career Match report and when they are selecting subjects for Senior School.

Each Career Byte will only take a few minutes to create, and the more we can collect, the richer the experience will be for our students. We encourage you to share your career journey to help current students to navigate theirs.
