Beyond Business Cards: A Night of Connection & Community
Our Beyond Business Cards networking event was a sensational success, bringing together YOGs and current parents for an evening of meaningful connections and shared stories.
Guests were treated to inspiring talks from Mike Tanner and Emma-Rose Parsons (YOG 1998), a fabulous live performance by Zara Nicholls (YOG 2018) and structured networking sessions that sparked genuine conversations and new opportunities.
We had great food, a buzzing atmosphere and a strong sense of community. The night truly lived up to its name - proving that the best connections go far beyond a business card.
We’re already looking forward to the next one!

YOGs Named Among Australia’s Top CEOs
We’re thrilled to congratulate David Bortolussi (YOG 1986), CEO of The a2 Milk Company, and Damien Nicks (YOG 1990), CEO of AGL Energy, on being named among Australia’s top 70 CEOs in a recent Herald Sun feature.
This recognition celebrates their outstanding leadership and the impact they’re making at the helm of two major Australian companies. It’s a proud moment for the Yarra community and a powerful reminder of where a Yarra education can lead.
Well done, David and Damien!

Old Yarra Cobras, SO Close!
Our Old Yarra Cobras put in an absolutely stellar effort for their Grand Final last Sunday. The game was tied at half time, followed by an incredibly exciting finish with 55 - 58 on the scoreboard. However, it was sadly not in our favour. Our congratulations to the players for putting in such a strong effort!
And of course a huge commendation to the entire Old Yarra Cobras Football Club players, coaches, volunteers and supporters for an incredible season and we looking forward to seeing you all #StrikeFirst in 2026!
If you would like to hear more about the club or join in the next season, please contact Tim Pottage (YOG 2004) on president@oycfc.com.au .

Have You Opted In as a YOG?
We want you to stay connected! Recent updates to the YOG Rules mean we need all YOGs to confirm their membership. Receiving this eNews does NOT guarantee you are a YOG – the school is kindly distributing this for us.
Why opt in? Stay part of a vibrant community with access to YOG sport, career networking and social events - including the chance to inspire current students by sharing your journey.
If you haven’t opted in yet (or simply can’t remember if you have!), it’s easy - just reply to this email (yog@yvg.vic.edu.au) with: “Yes, I would like to opt in” or follow the QR code above to update your details AND opt-in!
There’s no cost to stay involved. Just connection, opportunity and impact.
