As a thank you for taking part, everyone who completes the survey will go into the draw to win a dinner for two at Gimlet Melbourne (RRP $390).

So keep an eye on your emails, and thank you for helping us shape future planning and initiatives for our YOG community.

BEYOND BUSINESS CARDS

Our second Beyond Business Cards networking event brought together YOGs and current parents for an evening of structured networking and meaningful connections.

Our thanks to Carrie Edwards-Britt (YOG 1999) and David Stevenson (YOG 1994) for sharing their valuable insights, which sparked engaging conversations and new connections. Our thanks also to Zara Nicholls (YOG 2018), who performed beautiful soulful music throughout the evening.

The event certainly lived up to expectations, creating connections that extended well beyond a business card.

We look forward to continuing this valuable networking event in 2027.

YOG PUB TRIVIA

We had a great time at our inaugural YOG Pub Trivia in July at the Auburn Hotel at Richmond. This was a great way to share in a fun evening of teamwork, friendly competition and plenty of trivia.

Thank you to all the YOGs who participate in, and help to run our events. Your expertise and enthusiasm helps to keep us a connected community. #GoYarra #GoYOG

#STRIKEFIRST

The Old Yarra Cobras’ 2026 season has been a genuine test of resilience across both the men’s and women’s higher‑grade programs. Stepping up in divisions has meant tougher opponents, tighter contests and a few harsh lessons along the way - but the club’s trademark spirit has never wavered. As we move into the final stretch of the season, the focus is firmly on producing strong, disciplined performances that reflect the character of the Cobras and the pride we take in wearing the jumper.

Despite the challenges, the club community has remained one of our greatest strengths. The support from Yarra Valley Grammar and the Yarra Old Grammarians (YOG) continues to be invaluable - not just in resources, but in the sense of shared identity and tradition that comes with carrying the Yarra Valley name. It’s still something special to run out representing a club connected to its school heritage, its alumni, and its broader community. That connection has helped steady the ship during a demanding year and reminds us why involvement in this club remains rewarding, meaningful, and fun.

Whether you’re a seasoned player, a newcomer keen to give footy a go, or a supporter who loves being part of a tight-knit community, the Cobras would love to have you involved. The season may have been tough, but the future remains bright - and there’s always room for more people who want to be part of something proudly Yarra Valley.
