Foundation Update: December 2025

Welcome to our latest edition of the Yarra Foundation Update.

A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP

We proudly congratulate our Principal, Dr Mark Merry, on being named among Victoria’s top ten most influential education leaders by the Herald Sun. This honour reflects his exceptional leadership and dedication to Yarra Valley Grammar.

As Dr Merry retires at the end of this year, we thank him for his remarkable service through both good times and challenges. His vision and commitment have left an enduring legacy.

WHY I GIVE

“My journey with Yarra started back in Grade 4 and it’s been part of my life ever since. Today, three - soon to be all four - of my boys are at the school. Yarra has given me so much over the years: friendships that have lasted decades, valuable business contacts, opportunities through the Old Boys Football Club, and a strong sense of community. Giving back through the Foundation feels like the natural way to say thank you and help ensure future generations enjoy the same experience.”

YARRA’S FESTIVE SPIRIT

Melbourne’s unpredictable weather may have postponed Carols@Yarra, but the festive spirit was alive and well on campus! Our talented musicians and choirs delighted the students and staff with a pop-up lunchtime Christmas concert, filling the grounds with music and cheer.

If you’ve visited recently, you’ll have noticed the beautiful red tulle bows tied around the gums along Foundation Drive, adding a vibrant splash of Christmas colour. Even the Visionary joined in the celebrations!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyful festive break.
