
The Young Achievers Award (YAA) recognises outstanding Yarra Old Grammarians (YOGs) aged 18 – 30 who have gone above and beyond in the years since leaving school. Nominees can be celebrated for excellence in any one of seven areas.
Nominees should demonstrate excellence in at least one of the following areas:
Community Contribution
Significant involvement in their local or broader community through outreach, volunteering, leadership, or service initiatives.
Academic Achievement
Notable academic accomplishments, such as completion of a PhD, research contributions, or scholarly recognition.
Arts and Culture
Meaningful contributions to the arts, including visual arts, music, performance, writing, or cultural initiatives.
Sporting Achievement
Excellence in sport, including competitive achievements, coaching, leadership in sporting organisations, or promoting health and wellbeing through sport.
Contribution to the School Community
Active engagement with the school post-graduation, such as mentoring current students, coaching, guest speaking, or other forms of support.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Founding or leading innovative ventures, startups, or initiatives that demonstrate creativity, impact, and leadership.
Professional Excellence
Outstanding achievement or leadership in a chosen profession or industry

The 2026 Award will be presented at the YOG Year 12 Breakfast on Tuesday 13 October 2026.
