Who We Are

All current parents of Yarra are automatically members of Yarra Parents & Friends. Yarra Parents & Friends provides an important forum in which parents and friends of the School are able to meet on a regular basis. We work together to not only support the School’s programs, but to encourage a sense of community for all School families.

Parents & Friends organise, parent and family functions, support the School Festival, Mother and Fathers’ Day stalls and celebrationsand various fundraising and social events throughout the year. We provide services to our School community such the Second-Hand Uniform Shop at the School premises throughout the year and the Pavilion Cafe which runs over the Winter Sports season.

Funds raised through our many programs go back into our School, supporting a variety of projects from School badges to building projects. Many friendships have been made through the Yarra P&F network.

Become a Year Level Rep

Each year level at Yarra also has Volunteer Year Level Representatives. Their task is to be the first point of contact in the year level for new parents and to make everyone feel welcome. They are also responsible for helping make the term functions a memorable event and organising informal ‘get-togethers’ for parents. If you would be interested in becoming a Year Level Rep for your child/s year level, please email development@yvg.vic.edu.au

Yarra Past Parents

We love to maintain a connection between our past parents and Yarra.

Parents can remain connected in different ways; signing up to the quarterly e-news sent to interested past parents, attending events or suggesting further ways to engage.

A regular e-news (i.e., approx. 4 times a year) is sent to interested past parents, with information relating to upcoming School events, a link to Dr Merry's vlog (the latest one can be viewed on the School website) and any other relevant information to keep parents up to date with events and activities within the School.
