In this unit of work, students created their own Australian Landscape painting. They studied the Australian Impressionist, particularly the Heidelberg school. Students investigated how colour and tone can be used to capture the world around us. They developed basic painting techniques to create particular effects in their landscape painting. There was also a focus on analyzing photos or images in terms of composition, focal point, colour, light and shade.
In this unit of work, students take on the challenge of designing and building a CO2-powered dragster that can travel 20 metres in the fastest time possible. They begin by exploring design ideas and developing visualisations of their vehicle, before constructing their models using workshop tools and safe practices. Along the way, students build skills in drawing, measuring, and problem-solving as they follow a structured design process. The project concludes with a race, where students test the performance of their dragsters against their classmates.
In this unit of work, students created a one point perspective drawing for a fictional ‘Endless Runner’ mobile game design.
They used one point perspective to design an immersive scene that guides the viewer forward through a world that incorporates environmental details such as buildings, pathways, objects and thematic elements. Students followed the design process of discover, define, develop and deliver to plan, refine and produce their final drawings.
