In this unit of work, students produced a soft toy Monster developing an individual character and personality from a series of templates. They needed to develop hand skills in sewing to create their monsters, using felt and embroidery thread to add individual features and personality to their template.
In this unit of work, students created a painted flying bird inspired by Art Elements and Principles that became part of a collaborative mobile installation in the Fine Arts building. They explored the use of colour, pattern, contrast, texture and focal point, developing and refining their ideas before painting their final design onto a wooden laser cut bird. The project developed their creativity, painting skills and understanding of collaborative artmaking.
