Every year, on 8 February we celebrate Yarra Foundation Day, as we commemorate the anniversary of the first day of school in 1966 at Yarra Valley Grammar.
In 2026 our celebrations included a special assembly, morning tea, tour, the YOG v First XI Cricket Match, a Past Staff Reunion and appreciation activities and gifts for all staff and students.
We also created a special Yarra Foundation Day Picture Storybook, The Beginning of Another Yarra Story, to help engage our younger students in the Yarra Foundation story. This was read to the ELC and Junior School students in class.
This year, to commemorate our 60th anniversary we also held a Cathedral Service at St Paul's Cathedral on Sunday 8 February.
We will pause every year to Appreciate (our past), Celebrate (our Yarra Spirit) and Aspire (to the future). The day celebrates the foundation of the School and the Yarra Foundation which continues to fundraise for the future of the School.
