Yarra Foundation Day

Every year, on  8 February we celebrate the inaugural Yarra Foundation Day, as we commemorated the anniversary of the first day of school in 1966 at Yarra Valley Grammar.

In 2024 our celebrations included a special assembly, morning tea, tour, a special musical performance and appreciation activities and gifts for all staff and students.

This year we created a special Yarra Foundation Day Picture Storybook, The Beginning of Another Yarra Story, to help engage our younger students in the Yarra Foundation story. This was read to the students in a Cross-Aged Buddies Activity and all students in Junior School were presented with a copy of the book to take home. You can read it HERE.

We will pause every year to Appreciate (our past), Celebrate (our Yarra Spirit) and Aspire (to the future). The day celebrates the foundation of the School and the Yarra Foundation which continues to fundraise for the future of the School.
